RUN SANDRINGHAM 24 IS A TRAIL RUNNING RACE AGAINST THE CLOCK, TO TAKE ON AS MANY LAPS OF A 5 MILE COURSE AROUND THE ROYAL ESTATE AND PARKLAND AS YOU CAN IN 24 HOURS. A FESTIVAL OF RUNNING WITH A DISTANCE FOR EVERYONE.

As a Solo, Pair or Team Runner, the 5 mile course takes in many areas of the Estate, including the Royal Parkland.

You will get the full running festival experience onsite - running for 24 hours, a free kids race on Friday night, Camping available from Friday - Sunday, fully stocked pitstops en route, music, event village and onsite parking.

Van Morrison has announced an historic concert over the Bank Holiday weekend on Friday 25 August, hosted at the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The momentous outdoor concert will be the start of an incredible lineup of concerts over the Bank Holiday weekend presented by Heritage Live. Special guests for the event will be the Old Time Sailors, Squeeze and Del Amitri.

Van Morrison’s matchless song-writing and vocal talents have seen him produce an incredible body of material throughout the course of his career that has seen him traverse, and indeed master, everything from the British R&B, in which he originally made his name, to Jazz, Celtic and Soul.

Though also experimenting in these different genres, Van Morrison’s commercial success is well documented – ‘Brown Eyed Girl’, ‘Gloria’, ‘Here Comes The Night’, ‘Jackie Wilson Said’, ‘Bright Side Of The Road, ‘Have I Told You Lately’ – the list goes on.

The Who have announced an historic concert with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, hosted at the Royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The momentous outdoor summer show will be a special finale to their The Who with Orchestra 2023 UK tour, and is part of the first extensive live music events to be held at the Royal Sandringham Estate, presented by Heritage Live. Special guests for the event will be Richard Ashcroft, and The Lightning Seeds.

Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and band will perform music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy and Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who tracks and songs from their 2019 ‘WHO’ album, their first studio release in 13 years.

This will be the only show on their 2023 tour which will see The Who perform alongside the iconic Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Robbie Williams is set to perform a very special concert in 2023 at Sandringham. One of two UK shows next summer it will be his only stand-alone headline outdoor concert in the UK.

Wells-next-the-Sea in the heart of North Norfolk enjoys a traditional summer Carnival for residents and visitors. A week of family fun and events including a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more. Traditional seaside activities include a sand-castle competition, town crier competition, gillying on the quay and the crowning of the Carnival Royals.

A bit of history…

Wells Carnival is a not-for-profit organisation run by a team of hardworking volunteers who live in or near the town of Wells-next-the-Sea, on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The event has been taking place annually at the beginning of August for well over 100 years. The Carnival, which was originally known as the Wells Regatta was just a one day event and the earliest programme we have is for Saturday 24th July, 1926 (unless you have an earlier one). Over the years the event has grown and the carnival committee ‘Crew’ (they wear the fuchsia pink T.shirts) now organise more than 100 events over the 10 days of Carnival.We endeavour to provide entertainment for all ages: a teddy bears picnic for the little ones, raft race and fun run for the energetic plus painting and sandcastle competitions for the artistic. We also put on history walks and various workshops plus live music over 6 nights along with the ever popular Screen on the Green. The event culminates on the 2nd Saturday with the main Carnival event, including fancy dress competitions, a parade around the town and a spectacular music event in the evening.

The new King and Queen are expected to attend the Sandringham Flower Show - so it is a good place for a little royal spotting as well as a wonderful, old fashioned day out. The gardens and the flowers are stunning of course, and there are traditional fair rides, country show events and treats in abundance.

Nature Trail – Enjoy an amble around Holkham Lake and learn something new on your way. The nature trail starts just beyond the boat hire pontoon.

Take part in this wildly natural workshop brought to Holkham by Katie at Wild Oak Workshops, taking inspiration from how birds create their beautiful nests.

In this workshop, you’ll create your own natural willow wreath ‘nest’ by learning how to entwine silver birch, lichen covered twigs, moss, woodland treasures, blossoms, feathers and complete your wreath with a raffia ribbon should you wish to adorn your front door. Katie will guide you through how to entwine Nature’s seasonal offerings and share her love of nature and what magic is happening, all around us during spring. You can look forward to learning lots of ‘nesting’ fun facts to inspire you and enjoy a delicious chocolate Lindt bunny which is included!

If you would like to involve the little creatives in your family, then a mini wreath can be included too. Your home with be full of the joys of spring. Little ones will also receive a special bundle of bunny cookie cutters with some yummy chocolates for all the family to share. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be a minimum of eight years old to participate.

Norfolk Open Studios is a well-loved annual event which celebrates the creativity and talent of Norfolk makers and creators. Artists at all stages of their careers take part, from school and college students through to emerging artists and established and professional artists.

Each year artists welcome visitors into their working space – this might be in their own home, studio, garage/shed or garden – to share their work and skills and sell their art. Studios are free to visit and visitors don’t need to book in advance, unless they are a large group.

All Norfolk based visual artists are invited to take part – painters, sculptors, weavers, furniture and jewellery makers will be involved each year, to name but a few! Many will also offer events, demonstrations and workshops alongside their open studio, to share skills and offer people the chance to have a go themselves. For visitors, it’s a wonderful opportunity to get hands-on, as well as purchase original artwork direct from it’s creator.

Since 2021 the scheme has been held in the autumn in September/October, allowing people to explore the county to discover and meet artists during this often magical time of year. The Norfolk Open Studios website and brochure publishes details of all artists and schools taking part. The free brochure is made available in many venues across Norfolk and beyond in advance of the scheme, or you can view an online version via this website. Each artist and school is listed within a geographical district of the county.

Preview Exhibitions

Regional preview exhibitions are held throughout the county, to give people a chance to plan their studio visits. The central Preview Exhibition is held at the Forum in Norwich, which includes work by artists from all of Norfolk’s districts.
