Where coast and countryside meet
Set among peaceful farmland, beside our vineyard and just minutes from North Norfolk’s wild and wonderful beaches, The White House is a place to leave the everyday behind. Take the time to breathe in the fresh, ozone scented air and make the most of our secluded countryside location.
Whether you come for an adventurous weekend by the coast, a delicious dinner at Acre or simply to really relax, you’ll find the peaceful, slower rhythm of life at the White House irresistible.
The House
Inviting and deeply comfortable reception rooms, warm hospitality and inviting spaces to read, chat or simply put your feet up. Help yourself to a drink from the Honesty Bar or tuck in to complementary tea and cake, wander through the garden or simply settle in, put your feet up and allow yourself to unwind.
The Rooms
Each of our twelve individually designed bedrooms has its own character, but they all share the same sense of quiet comfort and understated luxury. Sink into one of our huge beds, enjoy the crisp white linens, throw open the windows to views of the surrounding countryside, sleep deeply in the tranquil surroundings and wake to birdsong, fresh coastal air and a freshly brewed cup of tea in bed. Thoughtfully designed to help you rest and recharge in peace and quiet, the bedrooms are special retreats that you’ll be reluctant to leave.
Eat & Drink
At the White House, good food is an important part of every stay. Start the day with a leisurely, cooked to order breakfast before exploring the coast, return for homemade cake and tea, then an evening of relaxed dining.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Acre serves seasonal menus inspired by the landscapes and produce of Norfolk. With ingredients sourced from local farmers, growers and makers - including produce from our own farm - our cooking is all about making the most of beautiful ingredients.
Throughout the rest of the week, discover our Prix Fixe Classics – timeless dishes, simply and beautifully prepared. Carefully planned, seasonally inspired and thoughtfully cooked, these set menus celebrate classic flavours and the warm, generous hospitality that is at the heart of The White House.
Our curated wine list includes the region’s flourishing winemakers, including our own award-winning Hawkers Hill wines alongside bottles from neighboring Norfolk producers and from the rest of the world.
The Coast
Big skies, fresh sea air and miles of unspoiled coastline await just beyond our door. Wander the wide beaches of Holkham and Brancaster, explore charming coastal villages, discover nature reserves rich with wildlife, walk the coastal paths or simply enjoy the changing seasons on the salt marshes. Whether you’re walking, cycling, exploring out on the water or next to it, birdwatching or simply taking time to breathe the salty air, North Norfolk encourages you to slow down and reconnect with the extravagantly beautiful natural landscape.
